ITEC combines state-of-the-art equipment and automation expertise with 30 plus years of semiconductor manufacturing experience as an equipment and automation partner. From new developments to an installed base of more than 2500 of the industry’s most advanced tools, ITEC ....

Chip-making machines are getting faster. Semiconductor patterns are getting smaller. To meet these demands, the world’s most advanced chip-making machines now require an unprecedented level of speed and precision.

For Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and autonomous driving to be safe and comfortable, digital map data should be used to anticipate the road geometry ahead. Fast and low-cost delivery of the most up-to-date map data to the vehicle is also critical.

Risk based testing

Should we only focus on testing the documented requirements? Are we missing bugs? The answers to these questions are, probably no and probably yes. Practice shows that requirements are ambiguous, missing, incomplete, incorrect or unstable. Off course, documented requirements are an input for testing, better requirements are more helpful. We can spend time on improving the quality of the requirements and their completeness. But even then the problem still exists. Therefore, we should ask ourselves to what extent we need to spend time in maturing the requirements and also whether we should only focus on testing these requirements. Because at the end we are not shipping requirements to the customer, but a software solution.

Unit testing

With unit tests the SW developers get fast an early feedback. With that, it is should be easy to find bugs early.
But unit tests also serve another very important aspect. I helps in improving the SW design itself. Think about things like decoupling, and reducing complexity. If we need to spend a lot of time to get a unit test up and running, we should question ourselves if the SW design is good enough to actually implement unit test.....

“Why is it so hard to find the right person for the job?”

‘Social media plays a vital role in the recruitment process’

Part of the reason for this is because so many companies continue to rely on the same tools that have been used for decades. Resumes, interviews, past experience, reference checks. While these tools have their place, if you persist in using only them to search for your new hires, you will continue to be frustrated.

We are finding the correct SW testers by applying active sourcing, recruiting international, client and candidate driven and by implementing referral programs. Social media plays a vital role in the recruitment process.
The SW testers do not only understand their profession. They also have the skills to discuss technical subjects with SW engineer/architects.
